You Should Know

In order to dive for scallops, divers are required to purchase a license from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. The recreational scallop licence for our area (29) has the following as some of the conditions for 2021.

  1. scallop shell height no less than 90 mm.
  2. scallop meats must be attached to at least one half of the shell until landed.

In addition, please note that diving for lobster in Nova Scotia is illegal. Photos only.
