You Should Know
In order to dive for scallops, divers are required to purchase a license from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. The recreational scallop licence for our area (29) has the following as some of the conditions for 2021.
- scallop shell height no less than 90 mm.
- scallop meats must be attached to at least one half of the shell until landed.
In addition, please note that diving for lobster in Nova Scotia is illegal. Photos only.
